Mqtt - no client user and password?

That will depend on whether your broker needs that or not.
The tutorial you are following corresponds to Mongoose, the HTTP server with MQTT client. This is Mongoose-OS, the framework, which internally uses Mongoose but not its latest version. Mongoose-OS MQTT docs here
